Context

How to mirror puppetry into graphic design?

We might seem old, but we're young at heart. It's been more than a decade since we've had the joy of managing the complete graphic design for the Puppetry Biennial of Slovenia, which hosts the best Slovenian and international puppet shows at the Puppet Theatre in Maribor.

Our ideas take shape as puppets, masks, and actors dance around us. With the editors, we twirl around the text lines. With PR folks, we dive into the fast-paced digital world. With photographers (Boštjan Lah), we hunt for images like animals and weave them into the pages of the catalog.

Goal

A mischievous and memorable image

Honoring the past, present, and future is crucial in preserving and showcasing the richness of any cultural scene. By incorporating various perspectives and approaches, we're not only highlighting the importance of puppetry audience and collaborators but also creating an opportunity for them to be represented and celebrated in a meaningful way.

Our desire is to give proper attention to all crucial higlights of the Biennial collaborators and nominees as well to demonstrate our commitment to creating a well-rounded and impactful visual presentation. The 7th edition of the Biennial of Puppet Artists of Slovenia is based on the exceptional puppets of Zlatko Bourek, and with two primary colors, yellow for the Slovenian version and blue for the English version, creates a framework within which the main protagonists of all the productions of the performing artists and theaters are presented.
