Practice makes perfect
We eagerly accepted the challenge of designing for such a celebrated and revered Slovenian festive treat. While many books about potica have been published, "Potica Without Stress" stands out by addressing the hidden pitfalls in preparing this classic dessert. It was a delightful task to create a unique and refreshing design for a subject so deeply rooted in Slovenian culture.
As in all skills, only with many years of practice can you become a master, whether baking potica or designing it a book of Potica. And as with baking, only with the best elements in design can you achieve the most; superb photographs by Anja Burger, a simple layout enriched with a system of colors that provide a rich framework for presenting a wide range of small and large poticas of all fillings and flavors. Enjoy viewing or baking, because life is too short to eat bad potica, or look at bad design.
